Unseen forces are a good thing. They keep us & our friends from being thrown off the earth's surface (remember we are on a ball that is spinning at about 1040 miles per hour, & moving around the sun at about 18.5 miles per second). They also keep us from exploding (messy) or even imploding (equally messy). In this program, Professor Steve deals with the unseen forces that control us & the world around us such as air pressure, gravity, inertia & centripetal force. Feel the power of Professor Steve as he, among other things, pulls a tablecloth from a set table without disturbing the plates & cups & performs his famous "Flying Toilet Paper". Unseen Forces! Hey! Let's give it up for light! Wonderful stuff. It provides warmth, allows us to see, makes it possible for plants to grow, & contributes to our happiness (lack of natural light can lead to depression), to name just a few things. In this program, Professor Steve explores the world of light, rainbows, prisms, eyesight, black lights & lasers, ending the show with a truly awesome laser light show Grand Finale (utilizing four different red & green lasers, five different lighting effects & 2 smoke machines). Water & fire. Both have confused man from the very beginning. How can the same water that we drink also exist in a form so strong that you can walk on it, & then change into another form so hot that you can't put your hand in it without burning it. And fire--it's not alive, but it moves & grows like it is. In this program, Professor Steve examines & demonstrates the different properties of water, ice, steam & fire, culminating in a Grand Finale complete with sparks, fire balls & confetti (presented in a completely safe manner). We love our soda pop! The average American drinks over 50 gallons (577 cans) of soda a year. That means that we are consuming over 50 pounds of sugar a year, which in turn produces about 25 pounds of weight gain each year. Soft drinks are a big part of our lives & our diets, so lets embrace them & learn about science from them. In this program, Professor Steve uses full cans, empty cans, & the liquid contained within the cans, to learn about air pressure, our health, burping, buoyancy & reactions.
